One of the blissful luxuries of life that a muslim is bestowed with, alhamdulillah, is the soulful experience of spending early mornings, in masjids especially (via fajr), and experiencing the gradual unfolding of the dark night into a solemn, chirpy, soft and velvety morning – in the atmosphere soaked in divine radiance. And if it is after the tahajjud prayers have made the heart soft and pure – through the silent sobs and private conversations of love with the beloved Master – it becomes a simply stirring experience. It really inspires silent droplets of gratitude from the eyes when we think of Allah swts benevolence in granting us many such pristine, mellifluous experiences through deeni lives; and all this even when an iota of reality-of-deen hasn’t come in life.

Indeed, Islam blesses us with a life where every moment is lived to the fullest. And  the more the adherence to the beautiful sunnah of the Prophet (Pbuh), the more efficient and effective life becomes, in all spheres – societal, familial, interpersonal, career-related, religious and even political.

One of the basic misconceptions that the ummah has today is that an islamic life is devoid of joys where one has to give away his/her desires. It is definitely a very bad misconception arising out of ignorance or a tendency towards slavery of the lower self!

Allah swt promises in the majestic Quran,

Whoever works righteousness, man or woman, and has Faith, verily, to him will We give a new Life, a life that is good and pure and We will bestow on such their reward according to the best of their actions.

Some scholars have also commented on the “Hayatan Tayyiba” mentioned in the above verse as “a blissful life!”

Further, Allah swt will open the doors of blessings from the skies and earth for him/her.

[7:96] If the people of the towns had but believed and feared Allah, We should indeed have opened out to them (All kinds of) blessings from heaven and earth; but they rejected (the truth), and We brought them to book for their misdeeds.

Whats more, Allah swt will put love and affection among the people who are obedient to Allah.

[19:96]  On those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, will ((Allah)) Most Gracious bestow love.

And will give peace and tranquility in the heart for the people who remember Him.

[13:28] Those who believe, and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allah. for without doubt in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction.

Just reading the above promises from the Creator and the Sustainer of the earths and the skies, the beloved Master of whom we all are mere slaves, makes one smile in overwhelming gratitude.

May Allah swt bless the whole Ummah with the right guidance to see the beauty of islam and benefit themselves and others from it, here and in the hereafter…aameen!!!
